How to Earn Credits and Support a Story: Four steps and Free!
At Spot.Us when we come across extra money (foundation support or sponsorship) we put YOU in charge of the budget. That's right, we trust our community to make the decisions about spending the money. In return our community creates value for our sponsors by giving valuable feedback about a topic or issue that is important to them. Each side creates value for the other.
If we have a sponsorship up - you'll see "Earn Credit" buttons at Spot.Us. Here's how, for free, you can earn credits to support the pitch of your chocie AND create value for the Spot.Us community.
1. Find the story you want to support.
There are no instructions and tips here. The pitch should be one that speaks to you. Do you like the topic, the reporter the image? Maybe it reminds you of your second grade teacher? Whatever criteria you use - it's yours. Just find that pitch.

2. Click "Earn Credits"
Next to "Fund This" is a button that says "Earn Credits." When you scroll over the button it'll say "earn credits to donate if you are short on cash."
Click this button like there was no tomorrow.
3. Take the quick questionnaire and then click "submit"
The questionnaire should be fun. It will challenge you to think and be honest, but overall it'll be fun. If not, you can give me a wedgie next time you see me.
4. Confirm that you want to give your credits to the original pitch on the next page.
It's just one last click - but it's the most important. If you don't do this - then your funds won't go to the right place.
